What is Enterprise Cloud?
An enterprise cloud is another term for cloud computing environment that offers enhanced performance and better security with reduced cost. Enterprise clouds are highly scalable and agile and support the organization’s platform, infrastructure and application to deliver enhanced web services. They have replaced the traditional approach of on-premise servers and other relevant storage systems with their fast computational speed, and reduced latency to prevent data loss.
A Public cloud is defined as an open computing environment that connects people anywhere in the world to lease out a small portion of storage space over the cloud. Third-parties are responsible to manage and host Public clouds and allow users to save their personal or business-critical data. Public clouds often include service-oriented cloud computing such as SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
Why do we call Public cloud as a consumer cloud?
The functionality of the public cloud is based on the fundamentals of cloud computing where the host offers the services via the Internet rather than following the legacy systems. One of the basic examples is when a user wants to upload his vacation photos on the public cloud using the Internet, he is likely to use an open cloud platform such as Dropbox, iCloud or Google Drive. This is the reason why the Public cloud is often known as a consumer cloud.
A Private cloud can be defined as a computing environment that is restricted to be used within a particular enterprise. It usually offered as an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) or platform-as-a-service (PaaS) that include advantages such as self-service, scalability, and customization. A
private cloud works via an internal network or through an Internet. Private cloud hosts are responsible for financing and maintaining the entire cloud infrastructure along with internal IT staff. Public cloud is often known as “corporate” or “internal” cloud computing environment as it is open only to those with an authorized access.
A hybrid cloud computing environment is a combination of both the public and private clouds that are joined virtually to avail the services and features of both the computing environments. The effective utilization of the combined features supports huge workloads with very less cost and enhanced security which makes Hybrid cloud one of a kind. It seamlessly distributes the workloads between the private, proprietary cloud and third-party cloud. Hybrid cloud computing is a popular choice when working on a highly-transactional or dynamic data or on entities having high volumes of archived data.
Differentiate between the Private and Public Cloud.
Cloud computing services are basically classified into two forms- Public Cloud and Private Cloud. A Cloud hosting environment that offers services over the Internet and accessible by everyone is called
Public Cloud Hosting. Whereas the one with network deployed within a Firewall including a restrictive management and accessibility is known as a Private Cloud environment. The major difference between them is the location of their deployment.

What if a hard drive fails?
Cloud is a pool of server that combines all the data and resources together. These resources include storage, bandwidth, memory, and processing units. If any individual resource fails, say for hard drive, your virtual machine automatically gets transferred to a fully functional server within the cloud to recover the data lost.
Mention the benefits of cloud computing.
Some of the major cloud computing benefits are:
- Reduced IT Costs
- Scalability
- Business Continuity
- Flexible Work Practices
- Access to Automatic Updates
- Efficient Collaboration Approaches
Are i2k2 Cloud Servers behind a Firewall?
Yes, our cloud server functions behind highly secured environments, among which Firewall is just a component of the many security features that our cloud include.

What are the benefits of cloud computing over VPS or Dedicated Server?
Cloud computing offers scalability- both upgrade and downgrade -on the fly to a great extent unlike VPS or dedicated servers. i2k2 offers dedicated servers easy to access, manage and control both on-premise or remotely. However, cloud servers are more scalable and deployed more quickly which makes it ideal for organizations or individuals looking for regular computing needs and they can use the resources as purchased. Cloud-computing is a more feasible option when considered for both the cost and performance factors, unlike the other choices.
If I purchased Linux, but later on decided to switch over Windows or vice-versa, then what happens to my data?
You can always switch from Linux Server to Windows Server or vice-versa as per your enterprise requirement. All you need to do is take a full backup of your existing data over virtual machines and restore. You may experience a small change in the mail server and mail transfer agent due to which your emails cannot be moved exactly as they are, so you need to download the copy of all your existing emails onto your local system through Outlook Express or whatever be your current mail client. Later, recreate the email addresses on the new virtual machine and then start using it afresh.
