Mobile marketing can be refer as meant to describe marketing on or with a mobile device like a mobile phone which is an example of horizontal telecommunication convergence. Its one more traditional definition is meant to describe marketing in a moving fashion technology road shows or moving billboards is the example.

There are also several definitions for the mobile marketing, no common definition exists. Mobile marketing is broadly defined as distribution of any type of promotional or advertising messages to customer through wireless networks or the use of the mobile medium as a means of marketing communication. Its more specific definition is: Mobile marketing means using interactive wireless media to provide you with location and time sen lsitive, personalized information that promotes services, goods and ideas, thereby generating value for all stakeholders.

The Mobile Marketing Association updated the definition of Mobile Marketing in November 2009:

Mobile Marketing is a set of all practices with which companies are able to communicate and engage with their audience in relevant manner and an interactive through any mobile device or network.

Mobile marketing is also known as wireless marketing. But wireless is not necessarily mobile. A user’s communications, for instance, with a web site from a desktop computer at home, with signals carried over a wireless local area network (WLAN) or over a satellite network, would qualify as wireless but not mobile communications.
