Is Data Network an electronic communications process?

Yes! Data network is actually an electronic communications process which allows for the orderly transmission as well as receptive of data, like spreadsheets, letters and other types of documents. Apart from other forms of communication like an audio network, the data network is configured to transmit data only. This is in contrast to the voice or audio network that is employed for both the transmission of data like a facsimile transmission and voice communications.

Today, there are two basic types of data networks in operation. The private data network is a local network which is designed to allow for the transmission of data between the many departments within a given entity, for example a company. As nodes on the network, all locations of the company may be included and may be able to communicate through a common server that functions as the repository for all and any data files that are used throughout the business.

Also, there are many examples of a private data network that allows for data sharing between many companies that are part of the same industry or profession. Through the creation of a virtual private network or VPN, connections to this type of network can be achieved that resides on a master server.

The public data network will be widely accessible to both corporate and residential clients of a given carrier network in contrast to the private data network. The public network’s setup includes the connection to the network or utilization of multiple servers through various different processes. However, a public data network will need some type of subscription process like a monthly usage fee.

The service provider will allow the creation of access credentials upon receipt of the fee that will allow you to access authorized portions of the network and also to engage in various functions commonly involved with data.

These may include the ability to create backups of important data files, retrieve stores documents and archiving data like historical information or other data which is to be valuable for future applications.
